Is there a NET SEND clone I can use in my Mac Terminal.app? Will it still send to Windows machines?

The other day I discoverred that if I use the computers in the library, I can click log off and open IE a few times, and then I can surf the net while logged off. Anyways, I was board today, and I can access the HDD, and started messing around. I found that I can access the AUTOEXEC.bat on some of the computers, and I was thinking that by changing some of the lines, I can bypass Novell upon startup. It is only about 3 lines, and I know that this is some of it:

Code: Select all

PATH ???
????
SET NWLANGUAGE=ENGLISH
I will get the whole file tomorrow. I tried changing the language to French, but I guess the computer doesn't have the French language pack. Anyways, I am trying to figure out a great way to use this to my advantage. It is Win98, so I can't use NET SEND or SHUTDOWN, but there has to be something good. Any ideas?

And try using the net user command with a side of net localgroup. You can easily make yourself a local admin (which surprisingly isnt very usefull :P).
Also get psshutdown from sysinternals. Have fun with these tools: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/PsTools.html . Also try doing a "tree /A >> treelog.txt" it'll give you a file with an index of the entire computer for later viewing.

that reminds me of a time when my friend and i installed SWAT, Unreal, and Tribes on the district network
we had a 6 person Unreal LAN game going in the library before the librarian kicked us off
it is kinda stupid they have it so your not allowed to change the background but they acculy teach you how to use Rastro which is a direct link to all the schools, i mean direct
you go in to the documents and can pull up a 7th graders report on the Aztecs from across town
Atari 2600p- XX% I think I killed it : (

School has started again, and my school is now all pcs. We got wifi and smartboards too but only a few. I was wondering, can you use notepad for netsend? They dissabled wordpad and command prompts, but they forgot about notepad. Also, is there a way to know or stop the teacher from looking at your computer without being an administrator?

Does proxify.com work?

Try going to www.whois.sc and find the IP address of the sites. Chances are that the blocker only blocks by name, not IP. (My school has SonicBarrier or something like that, and Proxify gets right around it 8))

Batch files! :)
Also, try typing "start command.com" or "start cmd.exe" into notepad, then naming it command.bat. Then double click it, and command pronpt should come up.

Its things like this that make me wish I was still in high school. I cant get away with this stuff at Baker. Hell if I got on their Crux server (for the linux classes) and I type in "su" and press enter I'll get a letter saying I try to hack the system again I'll be kicked out of school. And I know you guys that are Linux/Unix savy know that su is only changing to the root user (admin for you windows guys).

The closest thing to hacking I could do is just use the free wifi to download illegal stuff. That way I stay safe. But bittorent doesnt have anything that small that interest me (I prefer whole DVD movies).

My school disabled My Pictures, so I used my snazzy new 1" mobiblu mp3 player to upload pictures, and then used them on my desktop. Everyone who sees it is so jealous. I also uploaded small games, like Elfbowling, which is really fun.

Back in highschool, Wolf3d (original) was still popular (around 7 years ago) and the librarian always tried to block the Run command box by hiding the option so we couldn't click it. We knew the shortcut to do it, so we did, and once in dos, you can do anything =D!

We installed the game, played for a while, saved our scores, then deleted before the end of the period. The fun days...how I miss you so much!
