Re: PSP Forum
Do Japanese UMDs work in any PSP and vice versa?
Region Free for Games - Region 2 for UMD Movies
Good news for import gamers is, that the Sony PSP is region free. This means you can play games from all over the world on any system. This is different for UMD movies. But you will be happy to hear, that Sony seems to be following the DVD regions, which means that European movies are supposed to play fine on Japanese units (both areas have Region 2 just as with DVD players).
(I give credits to Lik-Sang on this
)
What Memory Stick DUO should I get?
This depends on what you are doing with it. Watching movies from the DUO? 1GB would be nice. Playing music? 512MB would work.
What UMD [games] do you reccomend?
According to Lik-Sang, Ridge Racer, Need For Speed Underground, Lumines, Metal Gear Acid, Bleach, and Namco Museum are the best sellers.
(Again, thank you Lik-Sang!)

I have to agree, the DS beats all. Not to start one of those chains of hateful-psp-vs-ds posts, but the DS is awesome.

JP games will work in any, though music and movie UMDs will not. So if you bought yours in the US it means no Naruto UMD for you.vb_master wrote:Do Japanese UMDs work in any PSP and vice versa?

I got a 1GB and I'm loving it. For 98 bucks it was a steal.
Lumines. Lumines. And...Lumines.

Hmm... I don't like DS much, it's a bit gimmicky with 2 screens, the touchscreen feature otherwise is great, but games like Wario Ware: Touched! cannot live on it, and Project Rub is a great disapointment, but Touchscreen is great used properly, but I'm all for PSP, even though though my PCp will have 2 Screens and Maybe Touchscreen, with a Graphics Tablet.

Somebody please buy my Dreamcast >_> £20+shipping
