Nuff' said.
You gotta be kidding me.

My stereo:
2 Realistic speaker boxes, ca. 1983. (replaced woofers in 01.)
Sony ps-77 turntable, ca. 1977. (only on its second needle )
Sony reciever, ca. 1986 (with digital direct-dial tuning. [you type in the numbers])
Realistic tape deck, ca. 1983 (with that feature that lets you press FF or REW while it's playing to skip tracks)
Realistic equalizer, ca. 1983 (still works like new)
Unknown CD-ROM drive, 1998? (24x, plays audio CDs through a custom interface cable)
Apple power supply, ca. 1989. (From an old 20MB SCSI hard drive )

And the speakers are connected with double-shielded cat5-e ethernet wire.

Not to be mean or anything. It's kind of amusing how most of my stereo equipment is older than I am.

My speakers pwn all.

I like hooking up my iPod to it. It's so much fun blasting "Take the Veil" by The Mars Volta on my stereo.

I'll take pictures tomorrow.

Meh, y'all can't beat my home stereo!!! The amp is nearly 40 years old...as my dad built it when he was in school...and how I have it. My speaks were assembled from various peices of junk I pulled off the curb, and in the junkyard...my radio is a junkyard special...my cd player came off the curb...same with my tape player, record player and my reel-to-reel!!!! MWA HA HA HA!!! I paid NOTHING for my entire system, and it kicks hard!!! Works quite well for waking up the neighbors.

what I can't figure out is why did the 1970's see the best stereos ever produced...and the worst music ever produced?

I used to love buying high-end equipment from thrift stores. My best find was a set of AR-1's in need of a surround job. $25... plus the cost of the surround repair kit.

actually I just did a quick check of their value on ebay...I may need to sell them...immediately...
