3.3V

i realize this has probably been asked b4, but it may be just me, but the PHPBB2 searching system sux... i can get totally unrelated things, or get absolutely nothing...

i wasnt able to get the audio/video circuit to power up, i got the main thing to go, the LED lights up... tested it with the power adapter, its fine... rigged up batteries to test, its a no show.

got 2 lanterns fer the 12, and i tried 2 AA's for the 3.3... woodnt go, figured my batteries may be weak, more amperage. hooked up 2 sets of 4 in parralel for the 3 volts, tested it, gettin like 5.0 A, and about 3.15 volts.

soo, do i have to have 3.3V? i cant seem to get it to run with anything less, am i able to use 4.5 v? or am i going to reduce my mobo to a heating platform.

i just want to get the bloody thing running of batteries, then ill rig a more permanent power solution...

esay answer use a single power circuit. get a dc-dc adaptor to run the 3v line because that is where the power is needed. you can buy really good kits for a few $$$$ or you can buy a 7805 regulator and use a resistor.

and yes yoou need the 3.3v it powers the CPU

thx, i think i may have been unclear about what i said... its not uncommon, i dont understand myself after reading things i say...

i realize i need the 3.3 line fer CPU... i juss thought maybe id be able to run it at a higher voltage... guess not, thx fer the info though...

and i currently have 2 circuits as i dont have permanent batteries... have 2 lanterns that power the 12 v and then a DC-DC powering the screen... i was going to use it on the n64 fer 3v but i dint realize it was only outputtin sum really low ma...

if you have a nus-001 boad i think you can run it at 5v

If you use a 7805 and resistor, run 2 or 3 in parallel, because most 7805s can only handle 1A, and the 3V line is 2.7A

the 3v line is 1.33 not 2.7 and you only need one a sngle can handle 1.5

Well, if it can draw upto 2.7A, it can probably go upto that at some point. And I have only ever seen 7805s registerred for 1A. better to have two for safety then to risk blowing the one you have and either overpower or underpower the 3V line. Anyways, I don't care, you're probably right, and I have homework to do

that was how i am intending to do it, so if it is wrong, someone tell me. Like this

Pin 1: +12V
Pin 2: to battery (ground)
Pin 3: +8V to PSOne Screen.

Is that right?

According to data sheets I found, that is right.
