Return of the PSOne screen??????

Doesn't that round shape look familiar? The volume and bright buttons are also in the same place as before. It also has stereo sound as well.
I have a big hunch that the guts are the same as the ones in the PSOne screens!
If so, this is an answer to our prayers!!!

I dont know, it does look similar, but I doubt the guts are the same.

One big problem is it uses 12v.

I don't think the internals are made by Sony or Zenith. I believe that they are made by a third party company who sells the TFT module to companies like Sony who want to make products out of them. Sony doesn't make everything that's in their products. A few years ago, I remember seeing an electronics company selling the modules by themselves. Of course, I haven't seen them in a while...

well, even IF it's at all like the good old psone screen, it's still $95.50-$120.50

The good news though is that once PSOne screens are completely gone, the price may have fallen enough to make this screen reasonable.

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I've been reading the forum for a while now, just finally registered.

Anyway, I just bought a couple of these monitors from my local Best Buy here in TX. They were on sale for $49.99. I'll be ripping it apart in the next day or so, to see if we can use them or not. I dont know if there has been other threads about this particular lcd or not, but if they work, its a steal of a price for being brand spanking new (in my opinion).

They had them for the PS2 (bought 2 of these) and 2 left for xbox, and several for the gamecube. Im assuming they are pretty much identical on the insides and since we would be ripping them apart and modding them anyway, might turn out to be worth it. I'll post some pics once I rip these bad boys apart.

Just thought you'd guys like to know.

I don't know why the auction said that. On the box it says 7.5 volts.

On the AC adapter also...its says:

MODEL : MKD-480751500
INPUT: 120V AC 60Hz 0.3A

its the same guts, even the hook-ups for the psone screen things for a/v and power and such are in there. be careful though, sometimes the morons dont hook it up right and you might have to do the 5v jump thing to keep the screen light on
