Internet Gameboy
somehow transfering another game to gameboy

and i have a few more that ill post later, and would i be able to use a Dreamcast Modem for a internet Gameboy?

I'm sure we would all appreciate it if you would be more specific.

Do you mean a gameboy emulator running off the internet, or an actual gameboy capable of searching the internet? The later would be very interesting indeed, though it would most likely not be a simple project.

There are devices that allow a computer to transfer data to console cartridges, though I have not seen one for the gameboy. Making a non-gameboy game run on the gameboy would most likely involve rewriting the entire ROM for the different hardware.

To use a Dreamcast Modem for your Internet Gameboy, you would need extensive knowledge of the digital interfaces used by the gameboy and the Dreamcast. The easiest way to get about it would probably be to create a gameboy cartride that can translate data from the Dreamcast modem to data the gameboy can understand. All of your ideas are possible with sufficient engineering knowledge.

But don't take my word for it

i seem to remember that nintendo was going to release a cable for GBC that allowed you to plug your GBC into a cell phone and trade pokemon over the internet. It was never released in america, but i do believe it was released in japan (how come japan gets all the cool stuff but not the united states?), so maybe if you can get your hands on one of those then you can figure out how the drivers work and modify the source code of a GBA rom so it can interface with a cell phone and access the internet, and then load the modified rom onto a flashcart.

I am assuming you mean a GBA, not a GB Color, or GB Classic. It would be impossible to get the older ones to browse the web.

You would need some damn serious know-how with programming for the ARM 7 CPU. You woul dneed to have a Mask or FlashROM that has an "OS" on it. You will need to do some kind ir hardware based IRQ setup, or logical bank switching to access from add-on devices and the FlashROM.

Its going to be HARD for one single person to do this. Not to mention the reall small PCB outlines the GBA Carts have. Im not saying it cant be done, but coming from a persont hat has been "hacking" consoles for a while now, its not goig to be easy.

Im thinking about buying a case for it, and if i need parts from a GameBoy Advance SP ill us them. I want the case to look more like the NGage or the 1st GameBoy Advance.

It was an idea of mine to stick a wireless modem within the N-Forcer (original handheld concept), to play Quake 3 Arena Online wherever you are (now thats the future of gaming!)

I was also thinking of a project for GBA, but details are enclosed until it's finished, in progress.

I not going put in a CD-Drive, it would take up way to much room and i just want the internet. Do you know any where to get a cheap wireless Modem? And what else would i need? Can you give me a list of everything i would need?
