old computer

While I would make a suggestion but all the good ones are now taken. But with me when my friend gets ried of his computer (much the same specs) I plan to make it a full on media server and then maybe connect it to a big monitor/projector. That way I can possibly watch/listen to all my stuff at home and when I'm away by streaming it (havent found out if possible).

I was going to get a computer to play console games, play VCD, SVCD, XVCD, XSVCD and DVD, and run emulators and games like Quake, Doom, Global Operations, Soldier Of Fortune etc. Run Windows XP and maybe watch Television on, all in a little box! I call it a laptop

I wouldn't consider a 750MHz computer old at all. It is less than 5 years old. Now an AppleIIc...THAT's old.

I'm still running an 866 here. (Used to be running a 900MHz Celeron, but I switched to an 866MHz P-III. Higher FSB and more cache.) It is fine for most things. a 750 is perfectly acceptable for most modern computer applications, unless you're a gamer. You may have to upgrade the RAM and CPU if you get Longhorn someday though...

make an arcade machine: put mame and a bunch of other emulators on it and give it a video card that can connect to a tv. get an arcade game controller or hack a keyboard to make one. connect it to a tv an put it all in an arcade machine thing http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm
