broken moniter

i have a big 27" moniter that used to work but in stopped working

. the sound works fine but the video doesn't, it doesn't even flicker or show any signs of life. it's from 1991 so it's probably not old enough for the tube to burn out. i think it might be a fuse, but it could be something else. i opened it up to look for a fuse but it's a huge mess of circut boards and wires and a whole lot of stuff so i couldn't find a fuse. any suggestions of what else could be wrong with it or how to fix it or where to find out how to fix it?

try another computer, it may be the video card.

it's not just a computer moniter, it has every kind of video input on earth and i was using composite for videogames then i tried RGB and it still didn't work

This is gonna sound funny to you but hey what the hell ill tell my amazingly sad story to you guys anyways. I walked in on my computer one day. Turned on the moniter... and it was blank... confused the hell out of me for about 2 hours... after pluging it and unpluging it from the back of the computer a few times... nothing... so finaly I get fed up and take it to the repair shop. It started to work perfectly. Turns out I had somehow turned the brightness down to 0... and unpluging it from the wall reset it.

i wish that was the problem, but mine has a knob that adjusts that stuff so i would have noticed if it was on 0

If you can't figure it out, and you use it a lot, call a repair shop.

shame, if I didn't throw out that 19" monitor I could of sold it to you, it only accepted SVGA/XGA though

Stay far far away from the HUGE suction cup and really thick wire on the tube itself! When i was about 5 years old i was dicking with a TV, I grabbed the metal arround the dube and wedged a butter knife under the suction cup. I got BLASTED with some serious voltage. Stay way from all the capactors. There is enough voltage to kill you!

Does the unit power up at all? If not, then it could be a PSU issue, perhaps the fuse liek you said, or a dead trandformer.

Does the power button work? I know its a dumb thing to ask, but often enough the answer to a problem tends to be the simple one.

Does the power cord still work? Test it for continuity. If you dont have a tester, make one with an LED (or x-mas light bulb, or flashlight bulb) and a 9V battery.

if toy still cant figure it out after all the crap you have gone thru allready, try and get it fixed at a shop.

everything works except the video. the sound works great and i forgot if the power LED turnd on but i think it does. i read somewhere about ben fixing a broken 21" moniter but i forgot where it is. how did he fix his?
