make invisable files visable and you will see that you just slightley copulate up your computer

Ok, hmm... Right click on it, select Open With > Choose Program, scroll down to Notepad, type some text, save it, typing txt after the dot, then delete.

that wont help it wont not erace because its 0 bytes its ez to create a file that is 0 bytes and erace them it wont erace cause its not realy there if you inderstand (well actually if I understood why it wont erace I would know how to get rid of it)
and you cant open it in a text editor because it would say it did not exsist

OK, peppers, I've got 3 possible answers: (Consulted an IT pro here)

1. It's a virus, pretending to be an invisible file that takes up 0k. Run AVG Antivirus or another virus program to flush it out.

2. There is a problem with your FAT/FAT32/NTFS file tables; It says there's a file where there really is nothing.

3. There's a dead sector of your hard drive the file tables direct to. It cannot delete the file because the file does not really exist.

There are a few steps I recommend you try:
1. run Scandisk and see if it can repair the file tables
2. Run a low-level disk utility such as SpinRite. (it takes a LONG time, but it can fix about 80% of problems
3. Bring the drive to a repair center
4. Buy a new HD, copy all your data to it.

The most likely problem is #3. If that's so, then the best solution is #4

its not a virus I resentley created another one to prove by any shadow of a dout of how it was made and I now have 3 and I just got 2 new 200 gb hdds I transfered my files over and the old these types of files did not transfer of course cause they are not realy there then I made new ones and started this topic (a site I sometimes like to go to dose this often cause one of the guys there is a jerk and I forgot to check one day) windows xp dose not have scan disk its equivalint is called diskcheck (or chkdsk in dos) witch I did try and finally I have not tryed a "low-level disk utility" cause I dont know what one is so explain more and you might get the meat if it works

or more inportantley right now how do I directley access the NTFS file tables? cause I would prefur to fix it manually

try some of these: (copy and paste)

1.
Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open. Close all open programs. Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe. Leave Task Manager open. Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in. At the command prompt type DEL <filename> where <filename> is the file you wish to delete. Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell. Close Task Manager.

How do I delete an "undeletable" file?

Sometimes you want to delete a file but when you do so an error message pops and tells you it cannot be done. Do successfully delete such a file do the following:

   1.      Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open.

   2.      Close all open programs.

   3.      You now need to close EXPLORER.EXE. The proper way to shutdown Explorer is to raise the "Shut Down Windows" dialog (select "Shut Down..." from the start menu), hold down CTRL+SHIFT+ALT and press the CANCEL button. Explorer will exit cleanly.

    Note: The <CTRL+SHIFT+ALT> at the 'Shut Down Windows' dialog method of closing Explorer is built into Explorer. (It was specifically designed so that developers writing Shell Extensions could get Explorer to release their Shell Extension DLLs while debugging them).

 
  4.      Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory where the undeletable file is located in. At the command prompt type DEL <filename> where <filename> is the file you wish to delete.

   5.      Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell.

   6.Close Task Manager.

^thats for if a file wont delete cause some program is grabing at it(when you get the error cannot delete cause its being used by anouther person or program)(its ezer to just rename it and restart then erace it when that is the case anyway) myne wont delete cause the computer wont admit its there cause its not
if I enter the DEL command I get "cannot find file"

ill be refreshing this often as I reserch

I've had invisible files visible for ages. It sounds like you need a program that could remove the reference to the file from the file allocation table (or whatever NTFS uses).
