OK, I know this is going to be a strange message for this forum, but I'm hoping someone here can help.
I can't give the details of our project here, but we have an application that is apparently very similar to the Dreamcast and we need help.
I know NOTHING about a Dreamcast, but I'm told our application is very similar. We have an application running Windows CE on a SH-4 processor. I'm told the application is compiled in C++ but I'm not sure of that.
We have several .bin files that need to be decompiled, slightly modified, then recompiled. That's pretty much the project.
If you think you're a pretty good at hacking the Dreamcast, familiar with Windows CE ROM files, and think you can help us out please send me a PM.
We are willing to pay for help on this issue. We can't spend a fortune, but if you're the right person, have some time, and want to make some extra money doing something you like to do please PM me.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Looking for good Dreamcast "hacker" for non-Dreamc

Not sure what you mean, but I suppose I should give more detail.vb_master wrote:Are you trying to inject CE into the DC to get to to be a computer?
This project has nothing at all to do with a Dreamcast. What we have is an application running Windows CE on a SH-4 processor and compiled in what I believe is C++. I'm told that this configuration is nearly identical to a Dreamcast.
The files on the DVD are in .bin format.... Windows CE rom files. We want to disassemble one of the .bin files, make a few changes, and then re-compile it. Hope I'm using the right terms.
I've tried a couple of the Windows CE decompilers (cebin, unpackcebin, and dumprom so far with not much luck). With cebin I can actually see all the files and modules from the .bin but when I try and make it save them to disk I get an error on a zero length text file.
I only have enough knowledge to be dangerous. I'm sure the right person out there could rip thru these .bin files very fast. I don't know how.
Hope this provides more info. If what I'm talking about is nothing like the Dreamcast then please let me know. Perhaps I was misinformed?
