NTSC uses a 3.57Mhz crystal to "encode" the video signal... If a 4mhz crystal was used, wouldn't it make it a PAL signal? Im not too familliar on PAL, so any input would be helpful.
And im using the term "encode" VERY loosely. I know its not an encoder, but I cant think of a better term at the moment... 39 hours without sleep... ug, cant eat, clowns will sleep me...
EDIT: Insomnia SUCKS!

Ok, I will try to explain a little more. TO create a proper timing signal, most video devices eed some kind of clock oscilator. Mush like an older computer, video devices can have their signal timing adjusting by replacing an oscilator with a different one. An NTSC signal used a 3.57Mhz crystal to time the proper signal. If I remember correctly, PAL uses a 4Mhz crystal.
What I would like to know is if this is true or not? And if it true, perhaps an NTSC LCDs 3.57Mhz crystal can be replaced by a 4Mhz to make it PAL...

Nevermind, its not possible. I had a sound idea, but I figured someone here would have a better handle on this than me. I did some research and found out PAL and NTSC are way too different.
With some tweaking it MIGHT be possible with a PSOne screen, but until i get a PAL device (My laptop can output PAL) and a 4Mhz crystal, im stuck in the dark. Im sure i can scrap a 4Mhz XTal from something.

first fox what is the exsact PAL devise witch your attempting to input into your ntsc psone screen? I may be able to help on that end witch is probubley the better way to go sence its usualy much ezer to get a PAL devise to output a ntsc signel than trying to get a ntsc display to assept PAL or if not some outher output the screen can use
