broke camcorder or pda?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

probably not from a PDA, but maybe from a camcorder. It all depends on how it is connected, and different models vary. I would imagine that PDAs have unusable digital signals.

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

well it could be. depending on how old it is. The ones with the little eyepiece screens are CRT so they should had like 4-6 wires running to it for the backlight, lcd, and video. But those are very small screens but they work great for wearable computers. You just need to mount it somehow.
Its better to be pissed off than pissed on.

I have a CRT based Viewfinder. Its big, bulky, and I havent gotten it to work properly yet. I think i have power issues. I just dont know WTF it needs/wants.

I have an LCD Screen from a sony camcorder. Its completely digital. You cant inpput Composite, RGB, S-Video, or any other analog signal format. I have no idea what kind of screen it is, I cant find any info on it, and the datasheets for the encoder chips are "classified" so I cant get a copy. Not worth the time and effort to get it working. It would cost less for a new 5 inch game screen.

this post will be kind of but not really off-topic :P....anyway, I recently took apart my broken camcorder and I'm gonna try and see if I can get the screen to work by itself :P....so, wish me luck!!! (and I wish luck to you guys working on YOUR camcorder lcds :P)
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
