Wow, I actually was planning on doing something like that after I saw the MegaJoyBoy! (With the Cartige Slot, of coarse!) Heck, I still might! (If you don't mind)

Edit: Sorry, I forgot to say how cool that looks! Very Nice, how did you get the cart slot to stay in place? Can you post more pices of the cart slot area?

Thanks,

First I hacked the NES connector off a Family Converter.

Image
Then I dremeled out the sides a bit on the top so that the NES connector would fit.
(note that I did that before I painted the case)

Image
Then I just stuck it in there for a pic. There's nothing really holding it here right now except for the sides of the case. Once the wiring is done I will either hot glue or epoxy the connector in place

Image
The connector rests on the sides of the case so it's nice and sturdy.

Thanks to everybody who helped me decide on a color for the case :)

@ gannon: That's pretty funny really. It does look like a famicom connector if you don't really look hard at it.

Yep, a Super Joy 3 (the kind with 76 games) 8) It's pretty old though, I got it for my birthday (june 2nd) last year, and it's gonna be my birthday this thursday. So this project has been in progress for almost a year

I've actually made 4 different cases for the project, but none of them seemed to take advantage of the small board size, or something didn't fit. That's why I went with the GB case :)
One case was a Game Gear case with a 5" PSOne screen, and one was a RadioShack project box, and then there was the one where I put it in a NES cart.

That will be me.

You know, it is kind of ironic that I am involved with so many birthday threads, because I don't even celebrate my own birthday.

Hey that is weird.
BTW you are all invited to come over to my party (don't expect much food though) :P

And I have some kind of an update. I got the labels on, the AV out superglued, power switch superglued, and some other small stuff.
I tried to get the audio amp working but for some reason it didn't (see my topic in the screen hacking forum).

Also I mowed the lawn, and cleaned the garage and got $13 for it. Then today I got $20 from my grandma in the mail, so now I can get another Hip Gear screen!!! :D This time it won't break....

At this rate, by the end of june I should have this project done and working!
