Megajoy 2 controller hookup?

Post by ShaolinDrunkard »

My portable is almost complete I just have to wire in the controller. Im using Cymoro's diagram from doomportables. But has anyone done this before, I'm guessing i have to remove the wires completly from the megajoy controller berfore i hookup the nes controller other wise the clock and strobe signals will get mixed. If anyone has done this before i'd appreciate any tips. The only one I dont think i can remove is the +5v because i think that also provides power to the NOAC.

Yep, i'm pretty sure you have to disconnect the wires from the controller for it to recognize the external controller. Also wire up a 7805 to replace the +5v, just run the unregulated power to the corresponding pin, connect ground and connect the +5v out to the +5v pin on the noac.

i scratched the trace of the clock/latch/data from the megajoy controller so i could solder without potentially damaging the NOAC.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean "scratched the trace". I stilll have not been able to succesfully hook it up so any help would be great.

He broke the trace and solderred on the side away from the NOAC, so it wouldn't burn out when he touched the trace with his solderring iron.
