Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

hard-drive for sega portable?

Post by pitts »

I was wondering if it was possible to create a gaming operating system?(kinda like the xbox has) but make it for the sega genesis then put it on a hard-drive and download roms of sega games and put them on it? that would be so sweet!

Possible: Yes

Do able by someone that has to ask: No

It would require insane skills to be able to pull off.

It'd be cheaper to make a CDX portable (even factoring in that you'll likely kill 2 or more of the $150+ consoles) and then burn the games you want to CD. (don't ask how to burn games here, against the rules)

It'd be cheaper to bully your younger sibling into carrying around a box of carts than it would be to hire soemone to program this.

you could use a mini-itx motherboard to create a portable pc and install emulators on it.
