It does! 1800 mah. So, with 4 1.2v 1800mah AA batteries, i could charge it fully 4 times?

I'd not suggest trying to charge the main battery, im betting its li-ion, and those things can be a bit risky. Maybe you should replace the current one with a few AAs, just have a few wires trailing from the empty battery case to an external AA case..

It's series, only voltage adds up, not capacity.

uh, i made a cable that goes into the charger slot. it runs with 4 1.2v rechargable batteries. is that going to do anything bad?

nah...you're supplying 4.8v, which is only .2v under what is normal supplied to the charger jack...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

It is a bit risky, but you have 4 options:
1. Attach a voltimeter so you can watch the level.
2. Create a limiter to shut off the charger at 5V.
3. Remove the battery, and run it for the standard ammount of time on those 4 batteries.
4. Do it the way you have it, and return the PSP if something goes wrong.

I'd go with 3. Easy, and no worries.

Voiding warranties is fun! (Especially if they don't find out till after you've left town)

I can't remember where you're going, but have a good bus ride.

Speaking of "voiding warranties"...

Did you ever take a good look at the shiny warranty label on the bottom of the PSone? (It covers a screw hole.) It says "Warranty void if this label is removed" (at least on mine). So I just punctured it to get to the screw! I didn't "remove" it, so is it still under warranty? (If the warranty didn't expire already)

HA! Loophole! :P

here's an excerpt from Sony's playstation site:
Sony wrote:THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY IF THIS PRODUCT: (a) IS USED WITH PRODUCTS NOT SOLD OR LICENSED BY SCEA (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, NON-LICENSED GAME ENHANCEMENT DEVICES, ADAPTERS AND POWER SUPPLY SERVICES); (b) IS USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES (INCLUDING RENTAL) OR IS MODIFIED OR TAMPERED WITH; (c) IS DAMAGED BY ACTS OF GOD, MISUSE, ABUSE, NEGLIGENCE, ACCIDENT, WEAR AND TEAR, UNREASONABLE USE, OR BY OTHER CAUSES UNRELATED TO DEFECTIVE MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP; OR, (d) HAS HAD THE SERIAL NUMBER ALTERED, DEFACED OR REMOVED.
second bold word kind of puts down your little "loophole" :P....the first set of bold words is just something I thought I should point out :P

But that's the serial number, not the warranty label. :P

[slightly smaller loophole]

They mention the serial number because it's common practice for theives to steal a skid of electronics (TVs, VCRs, DVD players, consoles...), scratch/melt off the serial number, and sell them. Just an FYI.
