overheating

I was just wondering how long a playsation (regular PSX) could stay on without overheating. Mostly because it doesen't have a fan

A friend of mine left my PSX on for over 2 months one time... I wasn't there becuase of work, and he came over, prolly with his parents and got bored, but forgot to turn it off... Long story short, it still works fine... It was on carpet too!

The bottom gets pretty warm.

i something (i cant remember what i found it in a pile of rubbish) i ran it and after 30min the surface mounted chip desolered itself it got very hot but seeing it didnt work it didnt stop working

Two things; One is that the thing about carpet is that its an insalator and so any heat that is push down will just rise and cause more heat on the system, have it on something else. Two is the the only Playstations that had heat issues were the first. They had little ventalation on the side and so after like 30 minutes had to be turned upside down and left there well you played.

The PSone had a lot of ventalation slot in it so you dont need to worry.
