whyyyyyyyy?

ok so heres the "scoop" i've got a psone screen and i've been tryin to led mod it but everytime i try it the leds work but then go out

i'm so confused and have gone threw 8 leds already

i've tried putting electric tape around their leads and am positice that the leads aren't touching the metal side thing

maybe the voltage is too high and it's frying them

i've got a resistor between the positive leads and i'm using a 7.2 infolithium sony

first of all, how do you have the leds wired up? parallel or series? second of all, if it's in parallel, you're gonna want to use an 18 ohm resistor if the leds are rated 3.6v@100mah (if you got 'em from Digikey, they probably are)

i have the leds reccomended in bens book and a ten ohm resistor reccomended

and i have each positive lead connected to the resistor and the negative leads connected to each other then ground

You have them wired in parallel, when they all draw as much current as the battery puts out. Try wiring them in series (resistor - positive - negative - positive - negative - ground)

so just hook the positive leads together then one lead to the resistor

am i gettin this right

Connect the resistor to the battery. Then the positive lead from the first LED to the resistor. Then the positive lead of the next LED to the negative lead of the previous LED. When you've gotten them all connected, connect the last LED's negative lead to the battery's negative side. Here's a diagram that explains it.
