Hey, im actually working on my first N64P and i was thinking about using the Thin Prismatic Polymer Li-Ion Cell it runs at 3.7V, 1500mAh and they are 1/8" Thick, I was thinking i could get two of those to run the 3.3V 2.7A line with those to save space http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?P ... rodID=1254
i dont know if it will work, its my first haha

You will have to run them in parallel though, and that is dangerous. You will also still need another 2 in series, to make your 7.2V line, and unless you use the PS1 screen, you will need more for that too.thejoyfaction wrote:Hey, im actually working on my first N64P and i was thinking about using the Thin Prismatic Polymer Li-Ion Cell it runs at 3.7V, 1500mAh and they are 1/8" Thick, I was thinking i could get two of those to run the 3.3V 2.7A line with those to save space http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?P ... rodID=1254

i found by using old high amp laptop battery cells i achieved high battery life, and when you combine about 3 cells together u get about 11.5v so thats not bad, since the volt convs i used would work until 12v rail dropped below 10.5 about 1.5 ~2 hours later.., also if ur not willing to solder the batteries.. forget it, u save room, and clutter...

Why are lead-acid batteries heavy?
Lead is very heavy, and the acid, which is more dense than water, is fairly heavy, and it all has to be sealed.
7 amps/hour is still a whole lot of power.

the problem with the psps, is the whole system is designed to be super low power, unlike the n64 which requireds a large amount of amperage on its 3v rail, and the lcd's which require a small but good amount, a 1.4 amp batt just would never cut it, ud drain it in a matter of minutes, maybe 20 minutes of full play, maybe..., i found that the radioshack rechargeable cells work great, you get 16 of those babies inside ur console, now your talking game play, tho you would getby with only 8....
