Help Spongey prank his dad!

Tonight my dad pulled a prank on a friend of mine and me. I have to admit, it was pretty good. My friend and I were talking about how to get him back, and we determined it would have to be something with his computer. Here is the setup we currently have in the house:

Dad's computer: runs Windows XP Home, networked to my computer.

My computer: runs Linux or Windows 2000, seems to network together pretty well with my Dad's computer.

Laptop: if needed, this may come in handy. The networking is a bit less reliable, so use only if needed.

What I really want to do is something that would make my dad think he has some kind of virus, but I'm not sure how. The more programs that could make him think this, the better. If possible, I'd prefer programs that can be run without being installed, like most emulators, since he doesn't want me installing stuff on his computer (concerned about spyware, etc) Also, being able to control this from another computer (like mine) would be a HUGE plus as well.

Have another idea for a prank, other than a fake virus? Post here!

If he normally uses links on the desktop for programs I'd take a pic of the desktop and the icons, then set it as the wallpaper and select hide icons.
I did that to my mom once. It's pretty funny to sit there and watch them try and click a blank desktop wondering why the links wont work

If you search Kazaa for "Fake virus program", you will get something. I used to have one, it was awesome. You would tell somebody to start it(or put it one they're computer and setup a scheduled task), then it would run through some fake coding, flash some stuff, then go black, and freeze 5 minutes later. I lost it about 6 fried HDDs ago though.

i had a program called timbuktu which lets you remotely control a computer

printscreen his desktop and use that as a background then move all shortcuts remove start menu and watch him suffer

Can even drag the task bar so its just the little line at the bottom, and have the screenshot encompass the bar too, so he cant just go to Start either.

Jesus, the majority of my school computers are Macs, I don't like to go near em. And the PCs have the right mouse button disabled, and no Control Panel to screw around with things.

my schools computers are ALL being replaced 300 of them 50 of them wirelss laptops for the whole grounds 50 for the whole room

They want me to go to a new school next year, and it will have over 500 wireless laptops, and instead of selling planners(which are mandatory), they will distribute PDAs. NNone of it will be at the school after a month anyways, so it is a waste of money.

Go to the run command in your start menu. Type cmd in the box which will open the command prompt just like above. Type: net send "ip address" message. If the computer you were trying to send a "Hello" message to had the ip address of 127.10.1.1, you would type "net send 127.10.1.1 Hello"

Additionally, it is possible to use a wild card such as * in the ip address parameter.

Example: net send * message

The above command will send your message to every computer on your subnet. This is great for system administrators to send out messages to all windows computers on the network notifying them that you are going to be taking down the server or something. However, if you are a student and feel like pulling a prank at school by sending some message across the school network, you will screw yourself. With todayâ€™s zero tolerance policies in schools, you will be suspended possibly even expelled. Trust me; itâ€™s happening all over the USA.

Just change your computer name to something intimidating, or frightening (Virus, Microsoft, Worm). Then netsend him messages randomly, wait till he comes in asking what's going on, go in and act like you don't have a clue, and mess with him...

Test it before trying it, because certain things your dad may have done (if he's an good with computers) may restrict these kinds of messages, but chances are he's not and it'll work fine.

I wouldnt bother with that, he is gonna know its fake as soon as he see's the typos

Anyway sponge, you aint told us how your dad pulled a prank on you and your freind.. im intrested!
