FC Game Console to NESp

Hey! I just signed up and I just recieved a brand new FC Game Console in the mail. Does anyone have any technical info relating to this teenie tiny console? I'm interested in turning it into a portable NES. I know you boys are fans of the Super Happy Mega Fun Wish whatever, but I wondered if anyone ventured into new territory.

well, considering it's most likely a famiclone with a NES cart. slot, I'd say start opening it up and taking some pics for us

yup, that's a famiclone

....and since it's already got a slot for NES games, there's no rewiring of the cart. slot to be done

....(unless you really need it to be somewhere else...)

Alright, Excellent guys.

Any suggestions as to what I can do with that middle piece (the black blob/chip part)? That is pretty much dictating the thickness of the potential portable as I would like it in the back/bottom of the portable. I notice a LOT of lines (don't know the word) going to it that I'm sure I don't wanna cut through seeing as I'd have to solder all of those little suckers back up. I'm unaware what that other fancy stuff is but I'm sure I could move some of that to make it slimmer. Also it came with an adapter for US carts so I'll need to put that in there too. Any ideas as to what I can do to stablize that once it's inside the final machine? I'm sure someone can think of something cool that would make sense.

Pretty much, the only way you could move the proccessor, is by cutting that piece of the board, then resolderring all the traces.

Here's some absolutely original mock-ups that I am trying for. I know that no one EVER thought of a design such as this. I hope you detect the sarcasm because I'm laying it on pretty thick. Anyway here's some pics.

Oh yeah, I'm not sure which way I want the cart to face yet so I guess it depends on how that chip board thing faces.

Looks like that would work. I'd recommend putting on a plastic flange around the cartridge to hold it firmly in place, not leave it solely up to the connector. Other than that, it looks very good!

EDIT: \/ Yeah, I know there's some plastic at the bottom, but extra protection never hurts.
