not really, clicking on the enter button brings you to a file called password.cgi, I assume it'd be a password prompt page :P

Err, no you had to have a password, I was on there even before then.

However, at the start, it was a bit different:

There was no auto-increment suggestion for user names. I.E. I typed in 'Tom' and it said 'user name already used' and didn't make any suggestion for a new one. Because of this 'Tom61' became my username, as ffly.com (I guess they thought they had to use DOS names) suggested it when Tom was taken, and I've stuck with it ever since. I'm un-creative.

There was no minimum password length (though you had to have one), and 'hi' served for my Hotmail password for years.
