you guys, do you actally know what that cold heat iron is for? people who have questions like "what's solder" its for repairing your radio, watch what ever, its not made for puting a portable togater and soldering more than a million things, as seen on TV are some of the worst products you can buy, except some things so if I were you i'd stick with the good ol wall powered soldering iron

I HATE the cold soldering iron. The tips break under the slightest pressure, and honestly, i wound up using be desoldering iron to solder: heat some solder, suck it up, and spit it out. its actually fairly accurate.

maybye it is my batteries, I use duracell "procell" batteries they are not available to the public, I can only get them because I work at a hardware store. they are chaeper and last longer than regular duracells.

go to nbc4.com and search for coldheat and they tested it out on tv. it worked for them.
