Can Gameshark Pro fry your 64?

Post by Gforcebond »

OK, I think i found the fight forum for this thread. Just recently I was using my gameshark pro playing around with some Goldeneye codes. Next thing you know my game freezes and when i try to turn it back on at first I couldn't even turn it on. The red light wouldn't even come on. Then after a few minutes it does come on but I get nothing on the screen. Has this ever happened where Gameshark Pro actually fries your 64? B/c I think that just happened to me. I looked at the troubleshooting thread but really doesn't get into anything about gameshark in particular. I've had this 64 for 15 years now. I got it when it came out in 96. Also, i've had gameshark and used gameshark multiple times over he years never had this happen.

It's probably just a touchy N64 being touchy. I don't think a gameshark would be able to put out more voltage than the N64 could handle because it's being powered directly from the N64. My N64 just quit working one day, and it wouldn't turn on for the next week. I put it in storage then pulled it out about two months later, and it worked.
