Re: Firefox 4
I like it, but I had to put tabs on bottom and get a theme that wasn't ugly.
Re: Firefox 4
Many little things about it annoy me. I switched to Chrome a few months ago, and I see no reason to go back.

Re: Firefox 4
They're basically just aping Chrome at this point.
Been using Opera for 3 years now, and I see no reason to switch Firefox again.

Ad block plus, down them all, and other irreplaceable add-ons are why I stay with firefox. Also I don't like Google trying to take over the internet.

Re: Firefox 4
yeah googles searches are depressing me. though I dont get a single junk email concerning my penis size. youcan chage tab locations, might try it out.chromes just seems like browsing with image priorites on low. I like opera, but for moderate to low ram, I've settled with fire fox. looks like I should look at all three again.
also an after thought. googles ok, it's bp the us and Chinese governments who are screwing around.... I guess you can still blame the tools running google, but they wont last for ever. face book on the other hand needs to be stopped. that one really concerns me.

Re: Firefox 4
It's way faster than Firefox 3 and just more stable in general. The interface is a basically a blend of Opera and Chrome. Overall I like it.

Re: Firefox 4
up date I'm using it on the LSD 25 it is not Bad for Smaller screens. I dont see the Point in switching over to Much else but I'll try crone again of I go or other week with google not reminding Me to do so.
The Lsd 25 is a touch modded gamming accer net book. (tablet controlled till I get back to Vancouver island) you can find a build log on my blog.
the only reason why i remember disliking crome was the guy showing it to me was terrified of downloading flash players. but this new fire fox feels good for little touch screens, so did crome ;p
edit:
Chrome took forever to download, since where on the road and I wanted to mod controllers in the Buick, I canceled it. Sorry Chrome guys, would be worth the wait, but I'm not sitting around all day to try it out. any Browser is still better than IE. Opera was a good one, nothing wrong with it now, fire fox still my fav, and Chrome, she's just not willing to dance with me.

Re: Firefox 4
I downloaded firefox 4 yesterday and spent about half of today getting it set up the way i want. they changed a few things from 3.6 that REALLY threw me off, I dont get why they have the same right-click menu order from firebird beta .7 about 6 years ago to 3.6 this year then decide that open in new tab comes first! "to promote tabbed browsing" ALL IT DID WAS SCREW ME UP. and how can they say "promote tabbed browsing" when they removed "open new tab" from the right click menu on the tab bar?! i can only hope that firefox figures it out, or i'll have to download something to fix it.
so after i fixed the above (and moved the tab bar to its proper place and reorganized the UI a bit more) i'm pretty happy with it, more stable and less cpu/ram heavy than 3.6. ive had the same instance open since yesterday afternoon and its using ~330mb, which is quite a bit, but my laptop isnt complaining like it did with 3.6 (eg barely useable). i had to move away from using flash under 3.6 for youtube because of LOLCPURAPE but i've yet to try out any really flash heavy stuff with 4.0 yet
so TL;DR its a step in the right direction

Re: Firefox 4
I'm having stability issues all over. Flash crashes continuously (up to date) and the browser itself stop responding every other 5min and crashed completely 4 times while uploading a video.

Re: Firefox 4
still nothing wrong here, didn't see the problem with the right click menu you saw there Triton, but I mean yeah they did sort of dick with that Tab menu thing a bit, sort of through me off once or twice, but like any thing you get over it and just go. No problems with Flash, Bush could you have strange plugins? I'm not sure if I've even updated mine but the first thing I did was give the browser a youtube run and mess with some demos.
I'm still not sure if Crackbook, or FackDick works ok on this thing, but if it does for you, you need to try beating you nuts with a steak knife (sorry to any one sensitive to socal networks, and tender nut jokes they just slipped out.) the Browser is a browser, still goes where I need it to go, still gets me so my porn.

Re: Firefox 4
My issue with it was they flipped "open in new tab" and "open in new window". to some people this might not be a big deal, but ive been using firefox since it was firebird 0.7 beta and from .7 beta up to firefox 3.6 open in new tab came second in the list. after that many years it becomes automatic, switch that up and it goes all to hell. i know i'm not the only one who had this issue. the reason it bugs me is because they did it "to promote tabbed browsing" but the ENTIRELY MISSING open new tab option on the tab bar begs to differcennar wrote:still nothing wrong here, didn't see the problem with the right click menu you saw there Triton

Re: Firefox 4
There is a new tab button, it just on the far right. If you edit your toolbar and pull it over it sticks to the tab like it used to.

Re: Firefox 4
i know the button is there, but they got rid of the ability to just right click the tab and hit "open new tab" because "open new tab" isnt there anymore, just reload tab. i can live without it but i keep refreshing tabs instead of opening new onesBush wrote:There is a new tab button, it just on the far right. Get SRWare Iron. Its the exact same thing as Chrome, but Google doesn't watch what you do on the internet, unless thats just a rumor.cennar wrote:up date I'm using it on the LSD 25 it is not Bad for Smaller screens.
