Finished my portable N64 (woo)

Actually, I finished it about a week and a half ago, but I just got around to taking pictures. Overall dimensions are 8.5" x 6.25" x 3" and it's fairly light, until you hook up a battery anyways (standard 7.2v R/C pack). I don't have any pictures of the final product running a game as the battery was dead when I took them, but I'm sure most of you know what the Sony PSone screen's picture looks like.

The ones labeled with final are, obviously, pictures of the finished product. And before any one asks, the case is made out of sheet styrene (.06 and .08").

Very cool, but I'd worry about it insulating the N64 too much. Might cause overheats. Insulation is what styrene is good for. While it's likely quite a nice material to use for a case (though I'd worry about breaking it into pieces when dropping it), I'd look into something a little more suitable for a permanent solution. Good work though

. About the heat issues, I kept the original heatsink on it (modified, but it's all in there still) and with the longest period of time that i ran it for straight (about an hour and 10 minutes) there weren't any problems with heat at all. There are a couple vent areas on it, specifically on the bottom, where the voltage regulator is.

if you want even better heat protection, put some on top. heat goes up

if heat ever even became a problem anyway, u could get a small 12v fan like 40mm, and run it at 7.5v to make it slower and quieter, and have that to move air, even with all that ventilation, you cant expect air just to circulate itself, just an option

Nah, I've played it for an hour and a half straight with no heat problems

(yay infrared thermometers). I do have a couple 5V dc fans that I can hook up if necessary, but then I'd have to make some adjustments in the case to make them fit.
