controller question

Post by Red October »

Hey i m working in me second portable and planning to make it smaller.
I noticed that on the board i have now there is no u8 chip,
So kinda wondering where i should connect the controller ?

It has 4 smal chips instead of the u8 it is a rev 2 pal board.
I can post pictures if needed.

Yes you can just cut it off but be careful, i really would recommend de-soldering but care with small long nose pliers also does a clean job.
just be sure to bridge the connections.

on the u8 alternate wiring i cant be sure which pin on the chips is vcc, still multimetering atm

is it an official controller?
i have heaps of the boards and the main thing i forget when i cut them is to reconnect ground/vcc and make sure the capacitor is still connected
