PS2 slim questions

Post by Bush »

I know that there are multiple revs for the slim, and was wondering if they are all the same size, and run off the same voltage. Thanks.

The scph-7000x series has the smaller board and runs off 7.4v.

Look in the unit with the drive open. If you see black case and no motherboard it is the small unit.

9XXXXs run off of 7.4v and have a small motherboard as well if the power supply is taken out.(9XXXXs have built in PSUs)

What you want is the SCPH-7900x! They are half the size and can run off of 7.2v just fine so no step down just hook it up to a ps1 screen . This is what I am using on my next ps2 portable. Also free mcboot works for that same model so you can boot games from external.
