Dreamcast - Modem to Broadband

Hello.

Just a quick question...


Is it possible to re-route the Dreamcasts Modem to a Broadband connection?

I mean for example, I have a laptop with a Modem and CAT5 (Broadband / Ethernet) plug. Is it possible to plug the Dreamcast into the modem port on the PC and have some sort of 'setup' (Software or configuration in the network setup under Windows or Linux etc) to tell it to then re-route or change the signal to forward to the Ethernet (Broadband / CAT5) connection?

Basically, the PC is acting as the DC Broadband Adapter which is hard to find and are quite expensive.

yeah its called dialup emulation. its very complicated to set up and will only max out at 56k.

56k is fine as it either comes with a 33k or 56k Modem anyway...

just bear in mind only a few PC modem chipsets will do host mode.
