How do I power my dreamcast off grid using 12 volts?

Hello,

I used to have a traamcast that ran off 12 volts but I left it on overnight and it fried the chinese power board that replaced the factory power board. I sold the carcass a couple years ago so I do not have it for refrence anymore. I allready read like 100 threads on this forum and every suggestion I have seen wants me to step the voltage using a switching regulator to get upo to 120 volts. I was wondering if the dreamcast needs 12v, 7.?v and 5.5v to run properly why do i need 120 volts? I am off grid and use solar power and do not have 120 volts available, is there a solution I can use so I can play my dreamcast? I do not want to run an inverter as it wastes power and sucks my batteries dry way too fast. I am just going to use a 12 volt lcd screen for a car for video.

I wanted to add that I can solder, use flux,a wick and demount a chip no problem. I am looking at the ps1 5" screen and the 4" screen, any preferances? I am looking to see what pin needs what voltage to work on the dreamcast motherboard as well as a means to power it and the ps1 screen. It sounds like the switching power source indeed does not go to 120 volts so I am open to using one. I assume I just hook up the audio out (rca cables on harness) to the screen audio input and then the ps1 screen amplifies the sound? do I have any options for a larger screen that dont suck too much juice?

ok i just figured out I can use this with my projector and my speakers via the rca audio and video out cable so all I need is to power my dreamcast from 12 volts in the most efficent manner possible and that is it! I allready have the cash to do this so please post a link to the power supply I need and the model number.

ok it seems all i need to do is remove the 120 volt power supply board which convieniently has the pins labeled 3.3v 5v gnd gnd gnd 12v so all it seems i need to do is buy a pico power supply that has 3.3v and 5v and I can run the 12 volts native from my 12v battery bank. Can I use the existing switch in the dreamcast on and off? it has a resistor looking thing on it between the 2 terminals of the switch should i cut it off or leave it?
