Sega Nomad LCD screen mod help

Post by HtheB »

I modded my Sega Nomad screen (as seen on: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=36273" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

But I have a problem with the screen.
First I couldn't get the backlight to work. After a bit toying around, I managed to get the backlight to work.

But then...... I made a short circuit on the place where the ribbon is... *facepalm*

Now the screen shows weird rainbow colored stripes :(

Any way to fix this?

EDIT EDIT: I feel sooo dumb. to myself. Hopefully, no one has been reading my comments on this thread so far.

I did this mod recently and didn't run into anyone problems like that. If you ordered the recommended LCD monitor, the LCD is originally attached to an extension ribbon cable that connects to the main PCB through a smaller PCB and then a second shorter ribbon. You may be able to replace the damaged part of your ribbon cable with a piece from the extension ribbon cable. Soldering braid will help with connecting those tiny wires.

Hopefully, that made sense. Lemme know if it didn't
