The SP and original GBA have the exact same hardware and can run the exact same games. Just like the original GameBoy and the GameBoy Pocket. There's no such thing as a 'SP only' game.
Search online for the best game prices.
As *o* said, the SP has internal rechargeables, the original GBA used AAs.

Any GBA or GBA SP game can be played on any GBA from any country. What exactly won't work?

My cousin from Ireland wanted to buy a GBA SP over here because its cheaper, and then use it and buy games in Ireland. However, if the batt is li ion, it must have a special charger, and seeing as they have 220v instead of 110, and also different plugs, it wouldnt work. However he might buy a normal GBA, as all AA batteries are the same.

Tell him to get an SP and a travel power converter at Wal*Mart. It will plug into his wacko foreign plug, drop the voltage to 110v, and give him an American plug for his American GBA SP charger.
