my volvo had a 2.3L turbocharged 4 cylinder. the stock non turbo volvo motor produces 114hp, stock turbo at 5-6psi is 165hp at the crank. mine was running at around 9psi of boost. god i miss that car

for a 4cyl the redblock engine is a pretty torquey motor, i've seen built 16 valve turbo volvo motors pushing over 300 horsepower and similar torque numbers! my car was basically stock but for ~300$ in parts i could have had that car in the 200-225hp range, for 500-600$ in parts i could have been pushing close to 300

it was starting to develop progressively worse electrical problems . and the first time i was gonna sell it the timing belt tensioner ate its own guts and i had to get the car trailered 80 miles back home  it was either the ignition switch or starter/solenoid going out and i was tired of dealing with one thing right after another  i still miss the damn thing tho, and i still have volvo parts so i'm looking for another one
