You do not need the stinkin' original hardware. If they wanted to, Nintendo could've easily put a GBC emulator inside of the DS's firmware and just disabled it at the last minute.

then why didnt nintendo do it in the sp to save space???
or make the gameboy player smaller by just hooking it up to a serial poirt, then include an emulation cd???
Okay, I've connected the two cp4 connections together and before I went any further, I turned the DS on just to make sure it still worked. And guess what? It works fine. Now I've just gotta remove the notches so I can shove in a GBC game.
Okay, It didn't work. The only thing the mod did was to make the sound temporarily high pitched. As soon as I removed the wire, it returned to normal. At least now I know, and I can stop wondering. It didn't hurt to try. And my DS still works fine. No harm done. BTW, there is no screw underneath the back sticker like everyone says.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, didn't want to contradict anyone, but I thought that if there were a screw under the sticker, there'd have to be a hole in the board for it, but when I saw no hole <gasp>, it must've meant no screw.

Cry me a river. So many people told him exactly why what he was going to do wouldn't work, that it was dangerous, idiotic even, yet he still did it. I'd call him it again in an instant.
I'd understand that if people hadn't already tried it and broken their DS, as reported on the site I linked more than once. I'm not backing down here, the guy was an idiot. Nothing personal.
great, I cant wait to see what happens to your DS when you try this mod! I think when your done ben should photoshop some CSi style thing when you kill off your DS...
