N64 LED mod questions
I'm wanting to put two led's in my N64. I'm going to switch out the standard red one (easy) and add another led at the air vents by the cartridge slot; but I don't know where to tie in the led to the circuit board. If any one has a diagram or a picture of where to solder in at that would be awesome. Also, will I need a resistor?
Re: N64 LED mod questions
you dont need resistors just open up the n64 and follow the 3v line to the switch once youve found the switch solder a wire to it and then wire each led to ground and 3vs

Wouldn't Add LED's on that line Put Pressure On The Board.
Some Stuff May Get Under Powered.
I'd Would Recommend Using A Volt Meter On The Line Afterwards

Re: N64 LED mod questions
LEDs barely use any power; you could probable hook up more than you can fit into the N64 before you start seeing any problems. I'm able to light up the blue LEDs that I use by holding one end to the ground or a grounded surface, while holding the other end.

I Just Relized That LED's really use no power. I think A Blue LED Is Cooler Than A Red One.nevermind1534 wrote:LEDs barely use any power; you could probable hook up more than you can fit into the N64 before you start seeing any problems. Nice job on the 64, it looks real good. I'm going to put LED's on the side vents now like you did. How many LED's do have in the 64?
