Dmg Help!

Post by Skittlez »

Hi im going to buy a DMG but i want to know if i can backlight it WITHOUT having to get a kit. I have an old DS wich i took apart. Can anybody help me out?

Ps: I registered here because im going to do a project on the DMG with my girlfriend, so you will see me around asking questions every now and then ;)

This is an old thread, but I'm in the mood for bumping!
You could try to frontlight it, but I don't think that's optimal for the DMG.
You can build a custom backlight using parts salvaged from a computer LCD screen. I have done that. 8) But it's not trivial, and probably not a good first project.

I'd actually recommend the kits since you'll get 1) a panel that spreads the light evenly over the screen. 2) You'll get a polarizing film. Very important! Without it, your screen will be fully transparent, i.e., show no visible image.
