Cell Phone And Laptop screens!!!!

You guys are all pretty smart, so tell me. Why cant we figure out how to hack cellphone and laptop screens, they are so damned cheap!!!!!!
I would be constantly buying laptop screens if i could figure out how to use them without the computer.

We know how to, but you need to use a converter to VGA most of the time, which means higher cost and less room. LOL. I am watching a movie, and just saw an NES.

What's not cheap is the controller boards required to run the signal from another source (like rca jacks). Those controller boards alone are about $200 or so.

This is exactly right. Im sure a few people here could make the board, but after everythings done and said, a pocket tv or whatever is just cheaper, and usually smaller.

Can you use just a regular vga box and wire it in. To me it would be worth the extra cost because if you calculate 30$ for a 14 inch lcd + 50$ for a vga box, it = 80$ for 14 inch montor. I wouldnt nessesarily use it for a portable but i just love lcds. My t.v. is just a 100$ 15" lcd i found on ebay plus a vga box to convert the signal, all toghether it cost me 175 bucks, which is pretty good considering 15" lcd tv's go for 500$+.
