Looking for portable hard drive/ nothing but pure storage

im trying to find a portable hard drive with nothing but pure storage space; no pre-built backup software, no 2 hour drive installation, just any size portable hard drive with nothing but PURE storage space

i already have a portable hard drive with good enough storage space, but so far, i am at my wits end because all i need is a portable hard drive with good enough space, and im sure i can figure out any backup issues i will need to do when i migrate over from desktop to laptop

and if i got this in the wrong forum section, pls reply to where i can re-post this topic before you do something to it

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can build one with a desktop hard drive fairly cheap.

SATA II Hard Drive + USB / eSATA enclosure - Just make sure if its a desktop hard drive that the kit has a fan.

The enclosures are usually around $30 and the hard drives vary by size and the RPM.

Format your hard drive. There, "Pure Storage Space".
How much do you say is enough? What kind of files? For some people, 1 gig is enough while for others like me, 1tb isn't enough.

What specifications? You basically want a hard drive that has been formatted so there is nothing else on there. Even if there was a simple backup program, that would take up a fraction of the space, not noticeable.

look, thanks for posting the links, but im looking for a pre built one, it can be any size over 320 GB

also, when you said, format my drive, it has about 30 GB of space that has WD smartware backup software on it that will not let me delete it; believe me, i've tried to turn my 320 GB portable hard drive into pure storage space, but that accursed wd-smart ware took 30 GB of precious storage space away from me

i might make some MAJOR file backups and that might take most of the free space away and that 30 GB is gone from me

so anybody else got some links to contribute

I have a Taurus Duel Bay RAID enclosure with eSata, Firewire400, Firewire800, and USB2.0 ..it's got two Seagate 1.5TB 7200.11 in there giving you a wapping pure storage space of 3,000GB.. I can sell it to you if you want

im looking for one that i can carry around, either in my backpack or my coat pocket, so i can whip it out for quick data transfers or something else

my old portable hd is a my essential 320 GB hd, and it has wd smartware (its either that, or i got the name wrong)

its ok if the portable ot external hd is a LITTLE bit bulky but other than that, it can't be too bulky cus then it limits itself to my home
