Playstation 2 Slim Battery

Hi was wondering anyone can help me out, only recently i started to go back to my PS2 system.

Recently had brought Joytech 8" LCD monitor and requiring a battery for last part, what inspired me was this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98eoGXCxIiM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the only problem is i have no experience on soldering and modding, i had ask several site that offer 9v battery say it's not compatible.

I did search on the forum but battery wasn't allowed as it was too common to use and had check the reference as well

So far i found this battery

I have made a PS2 Laptop from this guys video, as my brother wanted one (ThePortablizer)

Now, the battery that silly heck of a modder on the YouTube video, told me the battery specifications.

I went out and got it as seen here. (From eBay AU, but now there gone as I think the seller it 'sold-out' or something)





And here it is 'cracked' (Litterarly), open.




Do not buy it however.

My reccomendation is to buy a 9 Volt (or 12 and use a Voltage Regulator which will give you lots of heat however), and get it at a Very High Milliamp (mAh).

I showed him the ps2 adapter with 8.5v 5.65a and that was what he replied

So i'm kinda confuse what to look out for, 9v output only and large MaH to have long gameplay.

The adapter says 5.65 amps, but that's not what the PS2 actually draws. Normally it's 2.5-2.9 amps (depending on your revision), but adding the screen might increase that draw another amp or so.
So maybe 2 hours, plus a little more with that pack.

I'm also assuming the PS2 will run off of 9v, which I think it will, but I'm not sure.

Yes is does.

I do not reccomend it however, as the PS2 is specifically designed for 8.5 Volts.


It will run fine, but will cause the electronic parts inside to loose their life. (IE: Shorten your PS2's life)

Thank both, was afraid that the volt or amp thing will blow as i had experience it on playstation when my brother friend from HK lended to us to play.
