I have an idea involving the xbox 360 old model,...

I have been considering this idea for a while. But without the materials or the time to work on it it's just sat in my mind as "Wouldnt it be great if I read THIS on Ben Heck one day?"
The idea is opening up and xbox 360 and expanding top of the case, and placing in a multi-disc changer into the dvd drive array like this one

Then placing the infrared receiver towards the front of the case (a much bigger custom one would be needed of course )
With all this together, the user would be able to change games by remote control!

So, if anyone wants to make it and claim the idea themselves, feel free...

I had that idea quite awhile back after finishing up my first Slot Loading 360, but it's way, way more work than one would think. Just the mechanical parts of it are a chore, getting the 360 Laser/Spindle assembly mounted in place of the stock one, and then a good bit of coding will need to be done on a PIC/AVR to interface with the control logic of it to get that thing to 'mimic' a tray loading drive so the 360 will work properly with it and not freak every time a disc is changed, not to mention controlling pretty much the entire thing, as removing the original CD/DVD laser will throw the rest of it out of whack, a LOT of work.

It can be done for sure, and I'd also snag a broken or older one somewhere if I were going to mess with it for a prototype, no point in tossing a few bills on a new one and then possibly ruining it, unless you have that kind of money to burn.
