Can I use an old computer heatsink?

Can I use an old computer heatsink and cut it in n64 processor sizes or would the thing not work?

it will work, just make sure to secure it properly.
like with transfer paste etc.

Yeah sure, the n64 doesn't really need much. Look at how RAM sinks are attached to video cards. Using ramsinks is also ok.
