This is my first mod, and I'm trying to make my own version of the NESp cartridge with a gba sp. I would like info on relocating the buttons. thanks

Seen airz's NESp Cartridge? Basically that, but with a GBA.

oh. now i get it. i don't know much about the sp, but i have torn open a regular gba. relocating buttons isn't that difficult. here's the basic idea.

once you open up the sp and take off the little rubber pads from where the buttons used to be you will find two copperish colored metal pads. when these two make contact the button is "pushed" so all you have to do is use something like a tact switch to connect the two pads to so that when u push the tact switch you make contact. when the circuit is closed, you have "pushed the button" corresponding to the two pads.

so after you have drilled holes in your case for your buttons, u then mount them in the case with the tact switch beneath them. when u push the relocated button the sp will act as if u pushed the original button.

thanks, that helped a lot. i just didnt want to mess anything up. any tips on wiring the NES controller with only 6 wires to the SP's 8 buttons?
