WTB: lag switch

hey, we've seen people do things and get away in halo 3 mainly because they use lag switches

if anybody has an extra lag switch they're willing to sell, i'd buy it

and maybe if it comes with a connector, so i can hook the lag switch with an Ethernet cord that i already have

They're not difficult to make, and would be a fun little project. you should give it a go!

Just so you know - I hate people who do that on Xbox Live. I think wanting one of those is a pretty stupid thing to do, personally.

each for their own, I'm fine with it because I'm a PS3zor ..he'll probably get banned anyway if he uses it excessively.

Is a lag switch something I shouldn't offer to make? didn't even think about it.. was just like "ooo, something I could build"

well really, i don't want to use it to ultra own everybody on xbox live, but yet, see if this somehow helps me from getting lag

i have a wireless adapter, but it is prone to losing the internet connection from time to time, so i get lagged SO much, i lose my xbox live connection

then, i saw a way to use your desktop/laptop as a wireless adapter, and when i tried that, IT worked.

i still lag from time to time, but i barely suffer enough that makes me lose my live connection, and i want to see if by using said lag switch, that it would help better regulate whatever important electrical signals that sometimes falter

if it doesn't work, then i don't care, but it would be cool to own one

I'm not sure if a lag switch will improve anything, but who knows lol. guess there's no harm in trying.

would you want one that you push with your feet? so like a push to break button in a little box hooked up to your Ethernet cable's ..if you want one built PM me, but I still would recommend building one yourself

ironically, i saw a trick to boost my wifi signal by using a soda can, some tape (it called for duct, but i used electrical), some cutting tools, and my wifi adapter

long story short, i put my signal booster onto the wifi adapter (over the antenna), and when i was ordered to camp out in the living room of my home (that;s where my router is), i turned the can to the router, started up my xbox, and surprisingly, NO LAG, i didn't get a single ounce of lag

bad thing was, that i had to switch to crappy regular video audio tv mode (yellow video cord, and l-r audio cord)

i preferred my hdmi over that any day, but when i moved back to my room, and re-setup my game station (my consoles), i had to deal with crap lag all over again, and even though i have a 50 foot Ethernet cord (might have to get an even bigger one) that i could hook to my 360 directly to the router ALL the way across a couple of rooms, i don't want to end up having my family trip over the cord

so i guess the hunt for the lag switch will wait..........for now

You could try hanging the cable along the roof instead of the ground, then no chance of people tripping over it. Although I have no idea if you'd be allowed to screw a few little hook things into the ceiling, I'm guessing your rents probably wouldn't approve

What if your xbox laptop doesn't come with the port?

If it works fine in your living room but not your bedroom, it sounds like you're on the edge of you're wireless router's range. You might want to see if you can move it closer to your room.
