Yea, but they want me to pay the postage costs, so it becomes not worthwhile as they generally ask about $30 for postage

I cant be certain but I imagine it will be the same chip, as NEC produced the RDRAM chips for Nintendo. The chips will probably still be branded 'Nintendo' as well, and the supplier probably just mentioned NEC because thats the chip manufacturer.

To be sure its the same chip you could ask them if they can type out all the details printed on the top of the chip, or take a picture of the chip, to confirm its what you are looking for - thats assuming they actually have stock and are not buying them from elsewhere.

I've asked another company if they can send me samples without paying for postage, and also if they can email me photos. so hopefully They'll say yes, and I'll be able to try them out. I'm pretty certain they'll be fine, as link pointed out, the Nintendo RDRAM was manufactured by NEC. But best to be 100% sure before I order in bulk for you wonderful people

NEC manufactured the CPU, RCP, and RDRAM all for nintendo. The other chips are TI, Rohm, and Sharp.

So a NEC RDRAM is exactly what's in there.

That's what I thought, so it should be fine. I doubt any company is going to send me free samples anyway so I'll probably just get them, and then test it out before I sell them on.
