OK. Couple of thing to point out.

1. He says that there were 5 prototypes made, not in total, but if there were more, you would have heard about it.

2. The book that he scanned said that the technology allowed the mass production of the units, so where did they all go?

3. All his pics were taken on the same floor. He said his didn't have electronics, so how did he get it to work in his pics where you see the screen.

4. 1980. HMM. Don't you think that is they had tecknology like that back then, we would have completely 3D holographic TVs by now?

5. You don't put your location as UK so that people in the UK can see it. It doesn't matter where your location is, because every country's eBay shares a database.

6. You realize that it is nearly impossible to take pictures of a hologram because it is layers of coloured light? With a regular consumer digital camera you would see nothing but a jumble. Also, unless he had the games paused (during an intro?), the camera would capture more than one frame, therefor causing an even more messed up picture. In more than one picture, you can see that he used the flash, making the picture yet worse. Even taking a picture of a regular TV is hard, so forget about a hologram.

If you still believe that that thing is real, pick up your keyboard, and bang it against your head multiple times while yelling "Stupid, stupid, STUPID!".

daaaum thats going for a lot I have one are they realy that rare? I pics of the 3d stuff are not of the screen look more closeley they are paper my great uncle worked atari he gave me one with those papers but its just an empty case I think they made more than 5 of the case models you cant realy trust this guy hes pretty shady soo at his outher auctions most o them are mislabled like a lot of his hand helf things are labled game and watch when they are not though some of them are

Sorry man, but it's real...comming from the "Burned_by_the_internet_boy-wonder".

You're logic is seriously flawed...especially 1(5 were made man, end of story. He has one.), 2(Atari ended production), and 4(Yea, well the had rudimentary hovercars in the 80's too. Funny, I'm still not flying to work...).

OK, a few things to point out:
1) The Atari Cosmos was never released. It was, in fact, developed and it did work.
2) They were never mass-produced, even though they could be. The funding dried up.
3 & 4) This page claims that the games were just holographic backdrops with LEDs, like the Odyssey... but with holograms. Read up on the tech before making silly comments. Don't need electronics to show static pics.
5) OK... what does this have to do with anything?
6) These are just like holographic trading cards, which digicams can capture if the camera is good enough. He doesn't actually say that he took it with a digicam though (I don't think, didn't really look at it that closely).

In short, the Cosmos did exist, and yes, it probably would've really sucked as it is just an Odyssey with a gimmick. And... that's all I have to say about that.

Yeah, they're basically game-and-watch games with holographic backgrounds. Kinda stupid to pay about $14,000 USD for a prototype case.

It's about 10 000$US less than the last time he putted it on ebay. Anyway, this is real, the Cosmos really existed. nos_slived, none of your point were logical enough to convince me. I won't even comment point 1 and 2.

It's an hologram, it's not actually working.

Only point that make a bit of sense to me. But even if it's hard it's possible.
