Portable Computer Idea , ( not copying anybody else, well,)

Post by FDSMAN »

a little (got cut off in title)

ok my idea is

Mini ITX Mobo
Small 80 GB Laptop drive
PS1 LCD (copying)
and tiny keypad keyboard (copying)
Super thin Floppy drive
Super thin CD ROM drive

going to look some what like abbi's PsP except without a ps1 inside and kind of a flipout mounted piece of plastic that has the keyboard glued on and the mouse glued on, my be screwed down i'm thinking some sort of thing like a car hood with that metal stick that flips up to keep the hood up, (underneath)
I have 1 question, does the PS keyboard use the same usb?

If you mean, 'Will it plug into a PC and work without needing additional drivers?', then yes.

Hate to tell you this, but many, many people beat us to the concept. HP released a 8086 based handheld in the late 1980's that could run DOS programs. Ever since then, the idea of making your own has been on many a computer user's mind.

I wish you luck with your project, and I'll help when I can if you have troubles. I only posted a worklog here for my project as there were already threads here asking if it could be done.

Okay, Mr. Hilton. I'll stick with my plan of getting a PPC and some emulators.
