check the power socket to this diagram...

if it came with a fan it sounds like grease
you might want to find some thermal compound and apply that.
also try leaving the console on for longer with this "white stuff" on it
but if it gets the 2 red rings (overheat) turn it off immediate as it
can permanently damage the board.

So I do have a jasper model (with the heatsink cut in half)
Just a few new questions
Is it OK to replace the tall heatsink with a slimmer one? (And which would be a good idea?)
And the white paste I used cme with my Iceberq Pro 4 (http://www.thetechlounge.com/article/51 ... /#comments) Is that OK to use to transfer the heat?

The jasper produces much less heat so you should be good, but i would love to see your results for temp reading and such.

Also that thermal paste should be fine but if your concerned i would recommend getting some arctic silver 5 thermal paste. You should only use a small amount of thermal paste, just enough to cover the chip with a very thin layer.

I will be getting #5 it seems to be used a lot, and thanks for the small amount heads up (I doused it like I was trying to drown it)
