Is a phat ps2 worth grabbing?

I'm using uLaunchElf on my memory card, and then I load up HDLoader from that.. is Open PS2 Loader better?

I heard that using Free MC Boot on your memory card soesn't even require you to have a boot disk.. I should really look into that


EDIT: just did a quick google of Open PS2 loader.. is that basically HDLoader for ps3?~! that'd be epic.. *goes off and reads more instead of going to bed*

Hehe, just read it is for PS2 and PS3.. most of the stuff I saw at first was talking about PS3, but I don't have the PS2 compatible model,so at first I was like but then I was like

Pretty sure this will be my next mod project after I get my N64p done. PS2 slim + HDD directly wired to the board + uLaunchElf + Open PS2 Loader = Win ..I wonder if you could entirely remove the disk drive, considering you'd never need it. hmmm ..*ponders*.. that would make for an epic tiny PS2p!
