whilst building my 360laptop and yet another 360 mod i had an idea!
a Nintendo 64 laptop! the only other one out there i have seen was not the best.
i have a name for it (may not be the best name)
i will call it the "Nsixty4"

The overall design will be a small laptop shaped rectangle (around about the same size as a ps2 slim)
when its open the cartridge slot will be in the centre of the bottom half.

heres a few pics i made with my paintbrush application...

Image
this is the bottom half of the laptop (base when open)

Image
this is the screen area (inside when open)

i plan on vacume forming the case in four parts..
the bottom half of the console section
the top half of the " "
the bottom half of the screen section
the top half of the " "

this will be my first REAL

Having the cartridge slot in the middle of the laptop can block some of the screen.
I suggest relocating it to the back, DS style (under the screen).

sounds better, but what about the controllers? it would be most comfortable to have the controller ports on the front.

If the front of the base humakabula1 can fit the 4 controller ports and the cart ishowernaked so he can front load the cart and have the comfort of the controller ports in the front.

A little update...
i changed a few things around

Image
heres the overall design from the top.

Image
Heres the front of the case whilst its shut.

Image
Heres the back of the case whilst its shut.

Image
This is what the whole unit will look like.
(the area where the games are will be a drawer)

thats just to get the general idea of it.
i will most likely make around 10 of these all using a different plan

the drawer idea is good, but i still have to disagree with having the cart slot vertical. is it because you're afraid to relocate it? because it's really worth it, and not extremely difficult. i would have to say that if you were to put that cart slot there, you WILL kill this overall design.

It his case is thick enough, he won't have any problems. It's his design. That means he can do whatever he wants. He probably has it like that for his personal preference and convenience, so let him do what he wants.

Go for at least a 7 inch screen if its a laptop.

Even that may be a bit small.
Cheers,
