ps3 laptops with other OS's?
Hey so I was thinking about buying another ps3 to try and make a ps3 laptop, and i was wondering about the install other OS option. I know you can install linux but ive heard that you can not install windows and i was just wondering why you cant? Also would there be a way install 2 hard drives with the second having windows or something and being able to use the cpu and graphical power of the ps3 using some sort of drivers or anything?

1. Windows won't run native because of needed drivers, and it isn't written for PowerPC (PS3 architecture), at least those are the reasons I think whyandrewfancyname wrote:Hey so I was thinking about buying another ps3 to try and make a ps3 laptop, and i was wondering about the install other OS option. 2. You could use windows under VMWare under linux, but it would be really slow
3. Linux doesn't have full use of the CPU and GPU as far as I know but Geohot may have made a recent breakthrough (read:full graphical power)
4. Sony has phased out the other OS option with their latest update-meaning you'd better hope the one you buy has a older firmware. this also means you can't have PSN and Other OS (unless you do the workaround)
